We are excited to announce the latest milestone in our path to an end-to-end EU data resident email offering: configurable sending in the EU.
This feature empowers you to send outbound emails directly from servers located within the European Union, ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations and enhancing data privacy. By leveraging this service, you can improve delivery rates, reduce latency, and build trust with your EU-based recipients. EU Sending offers a reliable, secure, and efficient way to manage your email campaigns within Europe.
Twilio participates in the Data Privacy Framework Certificate program, which means data transfers from EU to US meet data protection standards that are consistent with EU, UK and Swiss law. This means when you configure sending to be in the EU through SendGrid, it is guaranteed to be fully GDPR compliant!
Previously available as a beta program via API, you can now directly manage which traffic streams should be pinned to EU sending pipelines in our Console. No need to set up a new account, you can simply create EU subusers and IPs within your existing account to leverage our EU infrastructure. By pinning traffic streams to EU sending pipelines, users can ensure that their email data and communications are handled in compliance with EU data protection regulations while maintaining a high standard of data privacy and security for European Customers.

Event data generated from European sending, including the recipient address, is still stored globally at this time. Twilio is committed to building end to end data residency as an enhanced compliance offering beyond GDPR: all event data will be region constrained as part of our 2025 launch.
