Wrapping Up 2016: Marketing Campaigns’ First Year
Molly FriederichMarketing Campaigns debuted last year, and we at SendGrid couldn’t be more proud of—and grateful for—the successes we’ve achieved with your help. In its first year, Marketing Campaigns grew to serve more than 5,000 paying customers and delivered more than 19 million email campaigns. To all of you who have joined us thus far, thank you!
As 2016 came to a close, our teams were hard at work on behind-the-scenes product improvements to ensure Marketing Campaigns will continue to be a leader in scale and reliability, as well as laying the foundation for some big deliverables in 2017. Despite being laser-focused on this important work, we have a couple of Q4 small improvements to share that you can now benefit from and start using in your account today.
Avoid accidental sends
Many of you expressed a concern that it was too easy to accidentally hit the “Send” button instead of the “Save” button in Marketing Campaigns. In response to this, we designed and tested a number of alternatives before identifying the best solution: adding icons to cue the function and separating the buttons physically. Look for even more accidental send protections in 2017.
Segment by relative dates
You can now target users who have opened or clicked an email from you within a certain number of days in addition to current functionality which allows you to target before, on, or after a static date.
Relative dates enhances your segmentation toolkit. For example, a travel site might create a segment to capture all contacts who have traveled in the past 7 days and then send a campaign to solicit feedback about their trip.
We hope you’ll find these updates to be helpful, and as always, we’d love to hear from you if there’s more you’d like to see from Marketing Campaigns. We have great momentum as we head into 2017 and are excited to bring you many more time saving, efficiency, and result-boosting enhancements in the months ahead.
