A few weeks ago we announced the Denver Broncos Tackle STEM Colorado All-Stars Hackathon. Today, we have a lot of exciting updates to share.

We are honored to announce that Russell Okung, offensive tackle for the world champion Denver Broncos, is joining us on Sunday, November 20th as a special guest judge. In addition to his football accomplishments, Russell is a startup investor and takes an active role in promoting tech and STEM education through his regular “Tech Tuesdays with Russell” series on the Broncos website. We are thrilled that Russell has chosen to spend his bye week Sunday with us!

We’re also happy to announce our Guest Technology Providers that will be assisting participants with mentorship and expertise as well as software services and hardware access. MapQuest, SparkFun, Auth0, StopLight, GitHub, Sphero, and Amazon Alexa will all be making sure that hackers are well taken care of throughout the 36 hours of hacking.

Mike Jeffries and Julie Simancek, part of the Chaos Corps, and their 250lb combat robot Bombshell.

Also joining us will be special guests Mike Jeffries and Julie Simancek, part of the Chaos Corps, and their 250lb combat robot Bombshell. Bombshell is the result of the collaboration of a large team of makers and hackers based out of Atlanta, GA and represented SendGrid during Season 2 of BattleBots. You’ll have a chance to meet these experienced hackers and learn about their fighting bots.

And of course we have a whole bunch of great prizes lined up including United Airlines tickets, Broncos Gameday Tunnel Experiences and tickets, Broncos field passes, signed helmets and jerseys, Sphero BB-8 droids, Amazon Echoes, and much more.

If you’re a college, university or code school student, sign up now!
