Two weeks ago, SendGrid opened a new office in Denver just in time for the first annual Denver Startup Week. In the wake of the successful celebration of Denver’s entrepreneurs, people are beginning to ask, could Denver become the next Silicon Valley?

With hot start-ups like Uber, Full Contact, iTriage, Pivotal Labs, and ReadyTalk having already set up shop in Denver, SendGrid arrives at a time where the startup community is reaching critical mass.

“It’s that density that makes places in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, or Boulder or Cambridge work,” said SendGrid CEO Jim Franklin. “With Denver, we’d love to see more people come downtown.”

New co-working spaces like Uncubed and Galvanize are making it easier for tiny startups to put down roots in Denver before they hit it big, and there are more and more experienced entrepreneurs around to provide mentorship and inspiration.

Sendgrid’s new Denver office promises to bring even more tech minded people to the downtown area, with room for 100 employees and over 30 current job openings.
