1. Tell us a little bit more about R/GA and the Software Platform Lab

R/GA’s Software Platform Lab enables brand stakeholders to make informed partner decisions by comparing and contrasting solutions, side by side, in a controlled setting.

With more than two hundred Ad Tech partners in twelve verticals, R/GA is well positioned to guide clients through the process of researching, evaluating, selecting and combining third party technology solutions.

2. What services does the SPL provide?

The SPL offers the following services to our clients:

    • Custom ‘bulls-eye’ reports
    • Brand-specific decision matrices
    • Workshops & roadmap analysis

3. What partner types or verticals are you interested in for the SPL?

The verticals we have the most partners in are CMS, CRM, Ecommerce, Mobile, Social, Retail, Testing, Infrastructure, and Analytics. However, our list of verticals is kept fairly fluid. Our goal is to look at the entire Ad Tech ecosystem, and to recommend the best tools for our clients’ needs.

4. Why did R/GA decide to start something like the Software Platform Lab?

In recent years, we’ve recognized an increasing need from our clients to look for a trusted advisor who can help sort through and evaluate the various software solutions in the Ad Tech ecosystem. We believe the SPL is the best way to respond to this need, and we have already seen a great response from our clients, in terms of using the SPL resources and services.

5. When you were choosing partners for your program, how did SendGrid come to your attention?

There are many ways in which we look for potential new partners. Once we identify a potential partner, we proceed to evaluate the vendor according to an internal methodology. Our methodology looks at several criteria, among which are performance, user experience, brand impact, vendor roadmap, customer service, and cost. SendGrid came to our attention from a previous successful engagement with R/GA. The platform underwent our evaluation process, after which we concluded that this would be a great partner for us to add to the SPL.

6. What type of activities are you offering to partners?

Throughout the year, we plan various events for our partners. One such event is the Global Partner Day, which happens once a quarter. The goal of the Partner Day is to introduce our latest partners to the R/GA community and our clients. Other events are monthly Lunch & Learns, and various co-marketing engagements.
