PHP Argentina Shows Tech Booming in LatAm Elmer Thomas October 23, 2013 Events // SUMMARIES ?> I have fond memories of frameworks like PHPNuke and Mambo and clients who wanted me to build large subsets of the Internet, all in PHP. So it was an amazing experience for me to share time with seasoned PHP veterans, sharing their trails and tribulations, in Buenos Aires no less! All were ready to teach and learn, and thanks to the organizers, have a great time in an amazing city. And learn we did, with over 500 attendees from 15+ nationalities all coming together under the PHP banner. Two days of 50 quality (bilingual) talks, combined with packed halls, made for a conference that has me already looking forward to the second version. All was not smooth sailing, but that had to do with governmental issues (hello reciprocity fees), which I’ll not dig into here. Perhaps we can discuss over an API or IPA. What’s next for PHP Argentina? Well, more awesomeness according to the event organizers. More attendees, bigger venue, more networking time and a possible third day of workshops + a hackathon. Sounds like good times to me. If you missed any of the sessions, be sure to check the PHP Argentina site for videos. Right now, you can check out photos posted by the conference on Facebook and a few posted by me at our SendGrid Facebook page.
