We’re excited to announce several new video resources to help you get the most out of your marketing email campaigns at SendGrid. We know how important engagement segmentation, list building, and email templates are to the success of your sends, so our customer support team has created new tutorials to help make sure you’re maximizing your marketing email.

We’ll introduce a few of the new videos here and you can always reference our documentation for more information.

  1. Account Settings/Sender IDs

The first stop in our new video series is the Marketing Campaigns overview video. It covers how to get your account set up and how to create and manage your sender IDs. A sender ID is a collection of information that identifies you in your emails to your customers.

With your sender IDs, it’s important to note that you need to make sure that the “from address” you use is a valid email address, and is associated with your business, since we’ll send a verification email to it to complete setup.

  1. Contacts, Lists, and Segments

Seamless contact management and segmentation are two of the most important features when it comes to handling your recipients. Engagement segmentation in particular is a powerful and precise way to communicate with your recipients—learn how to target your customers based on their behavior and you’ll both reap the benefits.

  1. Custom Fields

To get even more granular with your segmentation and to better personalize your emails, it’s best to set up custom fields in your marketing email campaigns. Custom fields allow you to easily insert properties like first and last names, email address, or custom info like age or country directly into your emails from your contact database. They also act as segmentation properties, allowing you to create dynamic segmented lists based on traits that you specify.

  1. Email Templates

Email templates are the building blocks of your marketing email. SendGrid offers you a selection of 10 pre-made, responsive templates that you can use, or you can choose to build your own. You can preview your email to see how it will look on both desktop and mobile clients and you can edit in plain text or HTML mode.
