I know I have. When I find an intriguing site and opt-in to receive their email newsletters, I expect the email experience to be similar to their site and when it doesn’t, it’s disappointing! The success of an email marketing program can live and die with its content.

There’s a surprising number of individual pieces of content that come together to create an email. From your subject line all the way down to your footer, it’s a challenge to make sure every piece performs its individual job and also contributes to the overall emotion and feeling of the message. So it’s smart to either learn (or review) the basics of what goes into your standard marketing email.
