SendGrid.com - Email Policy

This policy is applicable to all email and other communications generated or sent by or through the services offered by SendGrid (the "Services") through the web site located at www.sendgrid.com and such other site as may be designated by SendGrid (each, the "Site"). Failure to comply with this Policy may result in termination or suspension of any access to or use of the Site or Services.

  • You may not access or otherwise use third party mailing lists in connection with generating or sending unsolicited email or other communications to any third party.
  • You may only use permission based recipient lists when generating or sending emails or other communications through the Services. A permission based list is defined as a list in which each entity on the list is a person or organization that has explicitly granted their permission to receive emails or other communications from you by affirmatively opting-in to receive those emails or other communications.
  • You may not use the Services to generate or send emails or other communications to recipients from purchased lists, whether those lists are opt-in or otherwise.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring that the emails or other communications you generate or send through the Services do not generate an unacceptable number of SPAM (unsolicited commercial email) complaints. SendGrid, in its sole discretion, will determine the acceptable level of SPAM complaints.
  • You will include in each email or communication generated or sent through the Services an "unsubscribe" link as provided by SendGrid that allows the recipient to remove themselves from your mailing list. You will comply with any request to a recipient to be removed from your mailing list within 10 days of receipt of any such request.
  • You will include in each email or other communication generated or sent through the Services a link to the your then-current privacy policy.
  • You will include in each email or communication generated or sent through the Services an identifying footer stating "Powered by SendGrid" or a similar message designated by SendGrid.
  • You will ensure that all email and other communications generated or sent by You through the Services do not include or display any information or content that contains, promotes, references, or links to:
    • libelous or defamatory information or content;
    • vulgar, obscene, profane, offensive, abusive, or threatening information or content;
    • false, misleading, inaccurate or deceptive information or content;
    • unlawful or illegal information or content;
    • information or content that is discriminatory, racist, or promotes violence against any individual or group;
    • pornographic, sexually explicit or otherwise adult-oriented information or content;
    • gambling, sweepstakes or similar activity;
    • political, religious or charitable organizations, issues or causes;
    • weaponry, firearms, ammunition, fireworks, or explosives;
    • infringements or misappropriations of the intellectual property rights of any third party;
    • hacking, software piracy, spyware, SPAM or unsolicited commercial email, surveillance, interception or descrambling equipment, phreaking, emulators, ROM’s, or illegal file sharing activity;
    • viruses or programming routines intended to damage, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or information;
    • tobacco and tobacco-related products, alcoholic beverages, drugs (illegal or prescription), or drug paraphernalia;
    • hazardous materials or hazardous substances; or
    • information or content otherwise deemed unsuitable to SendGrid or harmful to the reputation of SendGrid or its affiliates, partners, customers and users.
