SendGrid Goes Mobile for App Developers

Mobile Devices

As reported by GigaOm yesterday, we announced our latest integrations with leading mobile-backend-as-a-service (MBaaS) platforms Parse, StackMob and Windows Azure Mobile Services. These integrations will now make it easier for more mobile developers to build email delivery and alerts into their applications without having to worry about the details of their infrastructure. Last week, we also announced tie ins to the popular Twilio APIs
that enable SMS text and voice integration into mobile apps.

Our MBaaS integrations are part of our ongoing strategy to make our service broadly available, easy to access and simple to deploy, regardless of what cloud services development teams are building with. Mobile developers are increasingly looking to MBaaS platforms to quickly access and integrate core functionality including the ability to send transactional email, to reduce development time and complexity. Comprised of account registrations, password resets, friend or follower requests, purchase confirmations or any user-generated notification, transactional email is widely regarded as the most effective form of engaging and retaining customers.

“SendGrid has long been on the forefront of introducing new services and products ahead of the market demand curve, and today’s integrations with leading MbaaS providers is no different,” said Jim Franklin, our CEO here at SendGrid. “MBaaS is quickly replacing the traditional server-side stack as a dependable, feature-rich option for powering mobile applications. Our integrations with recognized mobile app development leaders Windows Azure Mobile Services, StackMob and Parse, as well as our established relationships with the broader cloud services ecosystem, are important steps in making SendGrid available to developers everywhere.”
